Having problems with ecconomy.

Every time I try to do a new game, I seem to get burdened down with leases. I am playing as a Terran with ecconomic bonuses. I just cannot seem to maintain a steady income (In the game ). Can anyone here help me? One of the first things I try to do is build an ecconomic captial on earth to raise tax revenue. I only manage to have two colonies on average, Mars and Earth. Should I try to colonize other worlds faster to bring in more tax dollars? I tried trade, I even tried economic starbases with trade modules, the most it brings in is 25bc per frieghter. I even make sure to give my frieghters two impulse engines to speed up their runs. I go for the nearest neighboring planets. Also, if anyone here could, please tell me how to bring down the cost of leases!

Yah, don't lease items ha ha. Well, you could raise taxes and keep your people on the edge of revolt, you coudl decrease production until you aren't running a negative income. Also, research higher economic buildings and place them on your colonies. Finally, if you REALLY need money, trade your techs to other races for money I don't advocate the last one, as I play with tech trading off, but some people seem to think it's a good thing to do. They do suggest selling it to all races though, to keep it even.

Yea, pretty much don't lease anything if the cost will put your debt below -$500 BC since then everything shuts down AND morale gets crappy. I only lease if I'm sure the payoff is worth it in 100 turns (like grabbing a resource or planet) and even then never below -$500.

Wow, we're getting at least 2-3 posts like this per day, it seems.

Do a search for beginner strategy, strategies, or economy, or economy help, etc. You'll find many threads with a lot of good advice. I'm sure people are getting tired of giving beginning advice in a new thread every single day. I know I am.

But it's already here on this forum, so just search for it. If you can't find anything, post again saying so and someone will probably point you to the exact thread you want.

Good luck!
