Well, the powers that be are busy trying to decide what type of 'event' they would like to unleash on us. I myself believe they're going to use the old 'dirty nuke' scenario, most likely in a shipping port. For you see, once this happens then the inevitable 'police state' will most likely go into full force here in the USA. What better way to take freedom away from the people than disguising it as a 'necessary evil', meant merely to protect our citizens... and us like the stupid sheep that we are will be more than willing to volunteer our freedoms away to the government so that big brother can protect us from the evil and nasty 'terrorists'.

Look it up and read the definition... then look at just about everything Israel has ever done militarily... then look at the majority of what we've done in the past forty years or so with our military and you might find the irony in this.

This was just days ahead of a key UN Security Council vote, authorizing the use of force against Iraq. Al Qaeda was blamed on the attacks (with no evidence to support that).

Now, do tell: why in the world would Al Qaeda want to attack FRANCE?!?? We all know France was a key swing vote AGAINST the war in Iraq. If Iraq was harboring Al Qaeda (so we're told), why would Al Qaeda want to single out the single nation most responsible for NOT invading their sanctuary???

The American public is the butt of a media con-job, big-time. This attack (similar to the USS Cole) was orchestrated and blamed on Al Qaeda, for the purpose of terrorizing us into war with Iraq.

It is interesting to see people debating the situation in Iraq. My opinion is that America should have given Saddam a pat on the back for invading Quait.

Why is that? For all those who didn't know,, America used to have a military base in Quait and then Quait told America to F off. So what do you do about a freind in need after they tell you to F off? Why you laugh in their face of course! End of story.

If Kuwait had a military base in the middle of Kansas, we'd tell them to f off, too.

Thats fine, and America would certainly have the right to tell Quait to F off, however, after telling Quait to F off would they not be justified in snubbing America if Canada invaded and took over?

I've now had time to read all the posts here.
Just a couple of comments.

My first one is.

What a shame that America has suffered such a blight in world opinion, I don't blame the American people, I blame the idea that Bush supports, That is America has the right to impose it's values on others and anyone who disagrees is either a traitor or disloyal to the military to an extent that will cause coalition lives.

I say, This is a despotic argument that only a dictator would dare utter.

I think it tragic that a great nation like America has been forced down that road.

Britain, Were seen as the puppet of America an this is equally as tragic because Blaire is far too eager to roll over and have his tummy tickled. Nothing but shame on the "man".


My next thought is to those who believe still that something good can be gained in Iraq, every single fact says this is wrong,
what have we achieved, (fox news aside) nothing. What has happened to the people of Iraq, death, alienation and despair.
the whole notion of democracy is a sham.

To me this whole episode has cast a huge shadow over American and British forign policy that will take many years to rectify.
Even If we change the leaders that think this way we will still be damned in history as meddling fools that cost millions of lives by incompetence and arrogance.

If this bullying doesn't stop we could find ourselves in a situation we can't control.
An escalating conflict that could drag in Israel, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, then possibly Russia and China. not to mention doszens of other possible allies on either side.

Hasn't anyone wondered why Bush and Blaire are so reckless with the possibility of another world war.

It really ticks me off that America had to miss out on the poetic justice of Quait getting invaded after telling America to F off.

You can blame this on any one person, any other person elected to president would have done the same. The executive branch isnt strong enough anymore, Congress would have decided to send troops to Iraq anyways. The thing is, is that the US is stuborn, and after Vietnam we arent about to give up again.

In the end, and I hate saying this, its them dieing not us, thats the way the world thinks. Yes, the average person feels sorry for that split two or three seconds whenever we hear another soldier dies or another bombing is announced, but it doesnt really stir anyone to action. The only thing that does that is if it actually happens here, to the common citizen. I mean look at how the nation responded to Virginia Tech, how the media broadcasted the violance and the emotional pain. And yet, even through all that people stayed ignorant of places like Somalia and Darfur, and all the other massacres that happen daily, but just arent 'important' enough.

Yes, this war has to end, but its obvious that the politicians arent going to end it for us unless more and more speak out. Over twenty million people demonstrated against the war, and that actual sent a message.
