Game Fails To Autostart, Cannot Load At All

Yea i know, my autostart is set to run so thats not it; i may be dumb but im not stupid. and i loaded and played this game on this very same computer (with windows vista) just yesterday. but i had to do a destructive recovery, and now suddenly i get this notice when i go to install the game: GC2Launch.exe has stopped working ....then the usual vista bs. i dont know if this problem is my pc (after getting to know vista, probably lol) or the cd, but there is nothing at all wrong with the disc......any suggestions? i poked around a bit and still cant get it right

Can you open the disc in explorer and run setup directly?

ive tried that too; it freezes and i have to open task manager applications to get it to shut down. no marks on the disc; ive restarted several times (though not just for that) thinking maybe something wasnt starting correctly.....this is crazy, i just played it last night n now im jonesing

Well, Vista's built in virus/malware scanning doesn't play well with the original Dread Lords installer, so it may appear to hang when you run setup. This is because it will try to scan the entire installer at once before it allows it to run, which can take a few minutes. If you just run setup and leave it alone for a few minutes it should eventually get going.
