Confused with Modding

I recently started playing GalCiv II and I love it but just downloaded a few mods and alot of the mods say that I should unzip the files into the GalCivII/logos or GavlCiv II/portait and I have nither of those folders. Where do I place these mods?

Which is in your My Documents/My Games folder. If they're not there, just create them though they should be.

That is incorrect.

The gfx\race folder is in the main GalCiv program folder - so it should usually be 'C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Gfx\Race'.

In 'My Documents\My Games' the folder structure is 'GalCiv2\Logos' and 'GalCiv2\Portraits'.

Creating a My Documents\My games\GalCiv2\gfx\race folder won't do a darn thing, because the game does not look for anything there.

Umm hate to disagree but in DA it does and you are incorrect!

I have all my graphic mods in the 'my docs/my games/GC2DarkAvatar/GFX' folder and the game uses them as the default images.

Oh and if you recreate the base structure in the 'my games' folder the game will always check there first. Main mods need to bw placed in 'C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Mods\' but basic graphical changes need not be placed there.

Oh one other thing.. you can place any main mod any place on your pc as long as you redirect the mods folder to it, it will work!
