Cheats

Hello everyone...

This is my first post here so I was wondering if anyone can help me with this problem.

I am new to strategy games and i found that Galciv2 is very demanding and I can`t get used to it by playing fair.
So I looked for game`s cheats and followed the procedure to enable them but I can`t use them(they don`t work) in game.Anyone ever tried cheats?If so can he tell me what he has written in the target line in the game shortcut.Mine command line in the target box is like this:

C:\Games\GalCiv2\GC2Launch.exe cheat

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Actually you have to change the shortcut to point to the executable (galciv2.exe I think) *not* the launcher then the cheat parameter will work.

Will only use cheats to get familiar with the game.

Ok I Have a question will those cheats work on the gold version? If so how,I need to beat this pesty pirates that have been kicking the you no what out of me.Thanks for any help...
