More Forum Funkiness

It appears that the default font has changed, actually I think it's an improvement. However, when I was making a reply I went to change the font to see what the default font was changed to. Anyway the font menu appeared a couple of posts up into the thread. I checked the font size and the same thing happened. Here are a couple of screen shots of what's going on. I circled the funkiness in red.

[edit] Actually the menus seem to be in the proper areas if I try it in this thread. Very strange. [/edit]

[more edit] I went back to the thread that I first noticed this in and it's still there. Actually the font color as well as the smilies appear in the wrong areas as well in a similar location as the others. [/more edit]

I'm seeing it too, on this thread. Noted to web team to look at.

This appears to be a Firefox issue. The Editor is rendered prior to the medals, and Firefox thinks that the page is shorter than it really is. I'll have to find a workaround for this. I cannot provide an ETA for when I'll have a fix. I will report back when I do though.

Actually, I'm on IE6 and I'm just starting to see it on this thread. It seems to be dependent on the number of posts in the thread. As there are more posts these menus gradually get shifted higher and higher. On a long thread the edit box needs to be at the very bottom of the screen otherwise the menus are off the top of the screen.

I do like the fullscreen option but there I'm not seeing any menus at all in fullscreen mode.

Andrew any ideas why the medals do not show up correctly in FF? We seem to lose half of them and end up with a half box as well No biggie really, just wondering.

No problem with the medals for me in FF.

Must be a setting for me then

Firefox is horribly notorious for hanging on to old css. Always CTL+F5 when you run across display anomolies.

Cheers for the tip Andrew

That was quick work. Thanks.

And now we have Private Messages.

Um. Expand and Contract Editor don't work. Also the smilies and font color menus time out and go away too quickly. The Font and Size menu seem to stay put longer.

I have issues with the medals using FF:

Interesting. I'm using FF 2.0.0.3 and the medals look just fine. Have you tried clearing private data to see if something is cached weird?
I'm still on 1.5 so that might be a reason. Clearing the cache didn't help though.

Our websites support only the latest version of Firefox and Opera. We cannot support older versions. The enlarged editor will work as it is for the time being, due to a limitation within Firefox.

Andrew one thing i have noticed is a shortage of a site Favicon

Whilst i love FF's default rosette i would prefer a nice GCII one. Any chance of uploading one as it wouldnt take a second to do ?

Thanks

Of course I don't expect you to support older browser versions. I thought it might be a general issue with Firefox, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Strangely enough the medals always worked fine for me until recently, must have to do with one of the latest forum revisions.
