Minor races espionage and general espionage

After many games, i never take a tech from espionage. I invest heavy to spy the enemy, but i never takes any tech from them. I want to known if anyone was able to take techs from espionage.

The other thing: I have the 1.4 version of GC2. And the minor races don´t have espionage slider. How can i spy them???

It has been awhile since I've played DL, but IIRC, you have to have the highest level of intelligence before you have the chance of stealing techs. It doesn't happen very often, and the tech stolen will be random, so don't count on getting anything of much use to you. Stealing techs is not the primary reason for espionage, but more of a byproduct.

There is no way to spy on the minors, other than with a loaded troop transport.

It's pretty damn lame that you can't spy on minors. They can send and receive trade routes and trade tech. Hell, I've even seen one become a military superpower somehow and be very threatening to me, and still I can't manage to spy on them.

Pretty sucky for an espionage based race.

I've only played DA, and most of the time I create spies only to nullify other spies, as to really spy on an opponent you have to drop tons to actually get anything.
