Quick question about something I can't find in the manual

On the main screen, in the bottom-left corner of the UI, there is a square containing a picture of your selected planet and a "View" button. In the upper-left corner of this square is the number for planet quality and in the upper-right corner there is an orange symbol. What does this symbol mean? It is a small circle with an arrow pointing downward. Clicking on it does nothing, and I have not seen or read an explanation anywhere.

I believe it sets a rally point. Click on it, then click on the map somewhere, it should ask you what kind of rally point you want.

I think you have to set a rally point first, using hotkey "P" or the silver thing that looks like an arrow pointing into a bull's eye that's next to the spy symbol on top left of your "dashboard" (the bottom part of the main screen). Then when you click on the arrow/circle thing in the planet info box you'll get a list of rally points and you can select which one you want to assign the ships being constructed at the planet to. It's very useful. If you've successfully assigned the rally point, the circle you're talking about should turn blue.

First you must place a rally point with the button above the now researching window on the left of the UI, then you can designate that planet to go to any previous placed rally points with the button to the upper right of the planet pic. If you haven't placed any points you'll just have the option of home or default to set the planet to.
