Help appreciated

Ok there are 2 things I would very much like to mod but cant figure out how and I would really appreciate some help on the matter.

1. I really need to find out how to remove or modify the morale penalty for overpopulation. This is really killin me here. My play style is to build up large populations on worlds and this obviously isnt possible with the current morale penalty.

2. I would like to be able to customize the starting ability points a custom race starts with. Now I went to the raceconfig.xml and changed the custimization points value to 20 for custom race. However when i load the game up it is still only giving me 10 points. Whats up with this?

Any help is greatly appreciated and I dont care about ruining metaverse games etc by making these changes.

Sorry, that cannot be changed.

The value for ability points in raceconfig is ignored in Dread Lords, as it is hardcoded to 10.

In Dark Avatar, the value is used and can be set as you please.

It's a pity you can't pump them full of Prozac. Turns ppl into Stepford citizens from what I have heard.

While you can't mod the population/morale penalty, you can mod the buildings and/or techs to give a higher morale boost. The end effect would be the same.

And while you can not mod the starting ability points, you can add starting techs and set starting abilities in the RaceConfig.xml or 'CustomRace'.raceconfig files. You can even stay within the hardcoded 10 points if you don't use the same values as the selectable options.
So, for example, you could increase the Research starting ability to 50% without it costing any points, since the listed option values are 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%.

That is for DL, DA may work differently.
