Updating Registrations

Question: how do you update your registrations in Metaverse?/ I have tried n tried to add Dark Avatar to my Registration list, but it just shows original Gal Civ II and Stardock. I finished an epic DA game on Metaverse, went to post and got message that the game wasn't registered to the account. WTF???

You can register DA in SDC--right click on any item in the game's section, and hit Register Products. Then find DA in the pull-down list in the dialog that appears, enter your email and serial, and click Register.

Question: Why I can't activate my patched version of GalCiv 2 (1.40)?
It asks a serial 28 characters in lenght but I have only xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx like registration code on CD what showld I do?

If the only serial you have begins with GC2-, try exchanging it at this page. Failing that, please contact [email protected].

I have a similar problem, when I received DA from stardock Central the original password didn't work and I was sent a new one, But the original is still linked to DA under registrations in my account section on this website.
I have sent about 6 emails to support and each time I receive replies that the new number is linked to DA but when I check back in my registrations page the old one is still there, I have even sent them a screenshot proving this twice and nothing has changed.

Can someone in the admin team change it for me.

I'm not exactly clear on what you mean, Marcus. Do you mean that you had to get a new serial number (you said password)? You should be able to update that yourself just by putting the new one in the registration form in SDC in place of the old one, and updating it.

I do mean serial. Sorry.

Do you remember the issue with DA serials last month, when some ppl tried to enter the DA number and were rejected. I entered the one that came with my purchase email, the game rejected it and asked for a gold edition number. Solving this support sent out new numbers to DA.
They replaced the numbers in this format xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (old number) with one like this xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx (new number)

The thing is I can't log onto the Metaverse . I think the discrepancy between the two numbers is causing the logon to be rejected. I also cannot create a character with the new number.

If you go back to the registration dialog in SDC, which number does it show there? And what do you get when you use the serial lookup option in SDC's tools menu?

Right , When I enter the new number into SC and register it, it gives me a successfully registered message.

But when I then do a lookup ( after registering the new number)and get the numbers sent to my email the old number is still listed as the DA serial.
This is odd because when I contacted Support they sent me the serials associated with my packages and DA had the new number,

Simply being a different number alone is no cause for alarm. The serial lookup generates a new one based on a common seed each time you request it.

In any case, you should be able to create metaverse characters and use them using your GC2 serial. I made all of my own characters way back and have had no trouble submitting DA games to them.

If you are unable to log in after clicking the metaverse button in-game, that is a separate issue and should have nothing to do with your serials. Or do you mean you can't log in on the metaverse website (that's more likely a browser/cookie problem)?

That doesn't affect the fact that registrations (IE this site) has a different serial number compared to DA on my computer, if the metaverse doesn't compare these numbers then any number of different people can log onto one meta account and register scores.
All they would need is a the character name and passsword.
Is this how the meta works?

I can log into Meta website and create a character with my DL serial.
It's in game that I can't log on.

I find it almost incomprehensible why it is so difficult to get this simple issue sorted out. why can't someone go into registrations under "My Account" and input the correct serial.

As far as I am aware, a game needs only to be started under an account and submitted under the same account. Any copy of GC2 can be used to log into any MV account to my knowledge.

As I said, if you cannot log in at all in-game, that is most likely an issue unrelated to your serial. Support should be able to assist you with that.
