High Res Graphics Mod/Kryo's Hull Mod

Is it possible to use these two mods at the same time? If so, how?

Thanks,

You can simply copy everything from KHSM's folder into HRGM's folder (*after* running the batch file!) and it'll do just fine.

Kryo,

Sorry for my ignorance, but I started to copy from KHSM into HRGM but as asked if I wanted to replace various folders, so I cancelled the copy and looked into the various folders in both mods. Most of the folders appear to be empty in both mods except the Data and Gfx folders in the HRGM mod have additional content. If I do the copy as you instructed, won't I loose the extra content in the HRGM mod? I really would like to play with both mods. What should I do?

Thanks,

That message just means that if there are files with the same names, the ones you are copying will overwrite the ones that were there already. But there are no files with the same names between the two mods that I'm aware of.

No there isn't, there's no overlap between the two at all.

I guess I'm out in left field. When I go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Mods\KHSM-DA, I see seven folders named Data, Event Music, Gfx, Movies, Music, Screens, and Sfx, and the copy models batch file and the XML mod description. This is what is in the folder so this is what I was trying to copy to the HRGM folder. Is this right?

When I open the HRGM folder, I see the same seven folders plus the XML mod description, 2 word docs and 2 text docs. The contents of these seven folders appear to be the same between the two mod folders except the Data and Gfx folders which have some additional content in the HRGM. If I copy the folders from the KHSM-DA mod folder to the HRGM mod folder won't I loose the additional content in the Data and Gfx folders?

Again, I appologize for my confusion and really appreciate your help.

No. The only thing between the two mods that would be 'lost' would be the mod description xml, which isn't really important--as long as there's one there, it will work.

Otherwise, when you copy KHSM over HRGM, windows will go through all of the sub-folders, and copy the files in them to the same location in the new place. The only way anything would be lost is if there's a different version of the same file in KHSM as in HRGM, and there is not. So it is completely safe.

Windows just gives you that message because apparently it was too hard to prompt you to overwrite the individual files in sub-folders as it does with those in the main folder (*grumble grumble*). If it did actually do that, you wouldn't see any messages at all because no files would be overwritten.

OK, thanks! I just wanted to be sure. I make a mess once before and didn't want to repeat the same mistake. It sure would help if the windows message was correct. Thanks again.
