Ship launch selection still inop?

Hey all, patch worked great as far as I could tell... no crashes or fog, however I noticed that the ship launcher isn't working. Nothing game breaking really but I wondered if anyone else is having this issue?

If you mean the launch tile picker, it worked fine for me last time I used it.

It took me a while to figure this out, as the UI is pretty obscure.

When you click on a planet, there is a small icon of 9 arrows in the ship launch area. Click it, and it will let you pick which direction ships from that planet launch.

I think there's also something in the options screen to let you choose every time you launch a ship.

But anyhow, once you decipher the UI, it seems to work fine.

Yes, that's what I meant and no, it isn't working for me. Everything highlights the way it should and it will let you 'select' which parsec you want to launch from, but it doesn't actually retain the setting. Still spits ships out of the default parsec.

I guess I'm the only one huh?

Okay, still nothing... I can therefore assume that by some freaky quirk of the nature of the universe I am the only one playing this game who has this issue. If that is the case then what should I do as far as bringing the info to the attention of the powers that be? Kryo... do the devs just need a zipped save game on this one or what?
I know I'm not crazy but the feature definitely doesn't work for me.

Do you have the 1.5x.072 build?

I just did some testing, and the only circumstance it didn't 'take' in was if a ship was already in the exit tile I picked.

Of course... . Come on now Kryo, I may be a full blown idiot at times, especially when it comes to PC's, but I know better than that! Besides, I wouldn't even be able to play if I hadn't updated.
As I stated, the feature does everything it should with regards to highlighting a parsec and giving you the stylized cursor... but after selecting said parsec it just spits out the ship due south.

Of course...

Sorry, gotta be sure though.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working for you, unless you've got some strange circumstance going on that's preventing it from working, since it works fine for me (and most everyone else I'd expect, since nobody else has complained). You can zip a save and send it to me to check on real quick, but I'm not sure it would be anything that would carry over. If it is though, I'll forward it on to Cari.

Thank you kind sir! As always, you are the best PR guy Stardock has. You deserve a raise you know? Hey Brad... give him an extra five grand a year okay?

The interface for this feature is confusing. For one thing, the stylized cursor does not actually point where it looks like it should. It is actually pointing a bit above and to the left of the end of the arrow. And a parsec will be highlighted even if you point at an illegal area. Go to video options and turn on hardware mouse cursor. That cursor is more accurate.

Also, you're not trying to do it while you're zoomed out, are you?  It's a lot harder to tell where you're pointing when you're zoomed out, so you could be clicking outside of the valid area.

I'm just going to send you guys a saved game and see what you make of it.
Aside from that, it isn't gamebreaking so I plan on logging a full weekend of playing... i.e. it's not that big a deal really. Regardless, you will receive my save game from this one.
Have a good weekend people!

Oh, and of course you deserve a big raise as well Cari... you didn't think I'd forget about your devotion to the cause, did you?

I am seeing the same thing, at many different planets in my current game.

The interface isn't confusing, I get a green highlight on the parsec I choose, then I click the mouse. But when I launch, it comes out the default (kinda southeast) direction.

And no, there aren't ships there either.

I've even repeatedly re-orbitted the ship, picked the launch parsec again, and re-launched. Sometimes 5 and 6 times. It just doesn't want to co-operate.

I'll see about sending a save file to you when I get home.
