Galacticic civ 2 gold +problem with gigantic map

after the last update patch 1.50x068 I have a bug with gigantic map the fog don't go away 3 sectors wide on the right of the map from the bottom to the top and 3 sectors on the top of the map from the left to the right.I can find planete colonize see ships but it sucks.I don't have probleme whit huge map.Am I the only one with this bug is there a way to resolve it I've reinstaled the game twice and Istill have the same bug.

No you're not the only one, it was pretty much universal. It was a problem that cropped up in the .068 release. Fortunately, they just released a new patch today that fixes it. Go to Stardock Central and look for version .072. If it's still only showing .068, go to the Internet options in the top tool bar and have it clear the XML. That will bring up the new patch.

Does this patch also fix the invincible defenses bug?

No, that will have to wait a bit longer. And they aren't invincible, just stronger than they should be. I guess the devs figured since it wasn't a game-breaking issue, just a balance one, that it could wait for a bit.

Now that you mention it, my 113 hit point huge hulled ship with disruptors and invunerability field did go down to 111 hit points once as the drengin in my game did have some decent missle tech. I think my total shield defense was like 45? so against missles, my defense should have been like a total of 6-7 if you go by the square root rule (do they round up or down on that one???). Ok, not invincible, just needs some tweaking. Have you tried out the new patch, Belanos, to confirm that the fog of war issue on gigantic maps has been fixed?

Yes, it's fixed. At least I haven't encountered it since I installed the patch. Though I have hit Ctrl-N alot just to make sure, so it's pretty much certain.
