graphics / mouse errors

OK I'm new to this game. I purchased Dread Lords last weekend, and downloaded Dark Avatars last night. Maybe these are issues that people have asked about already, but I didnt see it in the threads. Maybe the patch that is supposed to be coming out will fix the issues.

First my mouse cursor keeps disappearing. Now the mouse still functions, but the cursor is gone. After a few seconds it does come back, it's just annoying. And this never happened with Dread Lords.

Second, when I'm on the ship construction screen when I'm looking at the different hulls that are availalbe, several of them just appear as grey boxes. When I select one it shows up on screen covered in arrows. Is it supposed to be like this? The Hulls that were available in Dread Lords show up just fine. Again I just wasnt sure.

Thanks for any help with this.

The hulls are basically a 'blank' that allows you to use any piece of ship jewelry as a base hull design, kind of like Kryo's hull mod, which is awesome BTW.
As far as the mouse problem, did you try using the hardware cursor instead? If that doesn't do it, I don't know what your problem is.

I have that problem too (in DL). Sometimes my cursor freezes but the mouse still works (i can see the buttons highlighted altough the cursor is not there). It goes back to normal in a few seconds so its not that big of a deal .

ah cool. Well I know what the cubes are for. Thanks for the info, I'll have to experiment.

I try toying with the mouse and see what happens.

I remember that the mouse issue is listed in one of the sticky posts, and tends to happen w/NVIDIA cards (though not mine, thankfully). As Storm said, the sticky said to try the hardware mouse cursor (it's in the options for the game) if the problem persists.
