I need help i know exactly what i need to do to mod things but even though i have the game installed and a gal folder their isnt any raceconfig.files of any other folders thre only things i have are mods,logos,portraits,and ships that crp soo where do all this stuff come from then? not the best personn with computers but wot's rong?dont no where to edit this stuff i want to make of change techs, and planets mostly techs though.

The serial number is located in the game packaging, the same place you found it the first time.

Activation is required in order to use the patches. you only have to do it once so long as you don't uninstall the game or reinstall windows.

Once you have installed the patch, run the game and you should be prompted to enter your email address and serial.

Only problem with that link is that it doesn't include Dark Avatar.
I've had a helluva time trying to get DA to use the mods. I've had to backup the original files and edit those because it won't run the mods.
