Loading customized race in campaign

Okay, so I know you can customize the Drengins in the campaign, but you'd have to do that every mission. I wonder if it's possible to mod the interface to enable the LOAD button? It's inexplicably greyed out as is...

Not likely--even if you did, it would need to correspondingly be changed in the game's campaign game startup code. Campaigns are designed to only be played with the race intended.

Well, I'm not exactly trying to play with a different race... I just want to save/load the customizations I made to the Drengins. It's just annoying to have to repeat the customizations every new mission and restart.
