Cannot create template ships

I'm no able to create ships from shipyard that are visibles both from the normal game than into the campaign.
I've read the manual and i've read about an "template" tab into the shipyard, but... in game there isn't!
If i save a ship from a normal game, i can retrieve if i start a new game, but if i contiunue a campaign, my ships are not displayed into the "user ships" section.

I've both galciv II and dark avatar, all updated to the last version.

Any idea?

That option is only available in Dark Avatar--make sure you're playing DA, and not the original game.

If i save a ship from a normal game, i can retrieve if i start a new game, but if i contiunue a campaign, my ships are not displayed into the "user ships" section.


Are you using the same style on your race?

Thank for your answer.. i'll try on dark avatar.

Anyway, i've create a lot of user ships, called "Frigade I, Frigade II" and so on, during the campaign, then i've saved.
I've finished the mission, and, on the next mission (always with the terran, obviously), they are not present, and i've to recreate and save it.

Make sure the 'save ship designs to disk' option is enabled in the options screen, in that case. Also keep in mind that a ship design you made previously won't reappear in future games unless you have all the needed techs to build it.

Ok, it seems that the new ships appears only when you start a new play. I've been defeated from the mission, i've restarted it, and now the ship that i've saved on the non-campaign game, appears.
