What do GalCiv II patches contain?

Practically every time I login yet-another update/patch to GalCiv II is installed on my PC... yet I have *never* seen a single document that describes what these patches contain! New features? Bug patches? Who knows! I've scoured the forums and the website and my harddrive for answers but none are to be found. Can someone tell me where to find out what these updates have done to my game? Thanks!

Bug fixes and compatibility stuff for DA if you're talking about the recent various 1.5 versions.

The patch notes are generally posted in the Dev Journals section. If you page back through them you'll find the notes for all the major patches (minor patches often don't get notes, such as the .68 patch for DA from a couple of days ago, which just fixed the metaverse cheat flag issue).

SDC is a fairly robust app, it's kinda surprising that it doesn't keep patch notes/history there, no matter how insignificant the patch.

It does. *IF* someone updates the history page. Usually they just get posted in the Dev Journals though, if at all.

Hi,
I have GalCiv2 - Dread Lords - Collectors Edition from Paradox. I know, official update for this version is 1.4x.
If however use Stardockcentral, offers me update to 1.5. I'm reding here, that the 1.5 is for Dark Avatar. Shall I it update?
Thanks for reply.

There is a 1.5 update for standard GC2 as well as for DA (the two are different). The patch for GC2 fixes a handful of bugs over 1.4, but mostly it is just to make the GC2 data structure compatible with DA.
