Grey background

After updating Dark Avatar to 1.50x0.68 so can´t I see any stars or any other thing in the background. The background is all grey. I haven´t changed any options.
I don´t know if its a bug or something else. Everything else is working fine.

Yes, there is a bug with the Fog of War not dissipating properly in .068. It is already fixed on the devs' end and the fix will be in the next patch.

Any chance of a hot fix being released for this problem? The game is unplaybale for me as is. I'm going to be reinstalling the default game until that's been dealt with.

Ditto.... Is there a way to uninstall the patch? Or - is a there a setting I can employ (on/off blind exploration maybe?)

FYI...

I think I found a way around this... It's a bit of an exploit, but seems to clear up the problem.

Give yourself a "sensors" race bonus - and the FOW problem seems to resolve itself.

In order to even things out -- and NOT cost myself any race ability points, I changed the ability bonus cost to zero (Abilitybonus.xml file in the standard /data/english/ folder if you've never edited any of these files).

Just so I don't get this (admittedly weak) advantage - I gave all races the bonus.

Btw this is not a game balance or minor bug ..this is a massive bug which makes the game unplayable ! It's not something that can wait a few days or a week .

Go to SDC's settings, and click the Refresh XML button in the internet section. that should get it to show up. If it still doesn't appear, go to the View menu and make sure that 'show pre-release versions' is checked.
