Dread Lords still negotiate with AI in 1.5X

Just wanted to let you know that under 1.5X I still have the AI declaring war on and signing peace treaties with the Dread Lords. I'm correct in thinking that it shouldn't be possible to negotiate with them, right?

They can also apparently declare war on and negotiate peace with me.

*Sigh* Can't the devs get the Dread Lords right. I want a good fight...

Yes, I once beat them into submission in space and they gave away their only planet to me via negotiation.

Well, it's funny, they're much more powerful in this game than I've ever seen them before. I suspect Brad's tweaks really have made them a more viable opponent in 1.5X, especially if they don't pop up right next to a human. I can't fathom why they're offering me peace, honestly. They've wiped out most of my military with 2 ships for pity's sake. The gist of all this is that I think they'd be fine once this business of them having diplomatic options is resolved.

I suppose... I haven't had the luxery to fight against the updated Dread Lords quite yet... In the last game that I played, they were supposed to show up, but didn't show up on any planets on the map. That ruined my fun.

I'm hoping that they show up on my current game. The other AIs are no longer much of a threat, despite two of them having about equal military power, and territory as I do. I'm pretty much in the early phase of mopping up my opponents. Its a good time for the Dread Lords to show up.

That sucks. You know it's odd, I've never seen the pirate event or the peacekeepers or any of the other "big" megas. All I ever seem to get are the plague (which has largely been fixed and is cool now, thank you SD) and this Dread Lords event that always has so much potential and then seems to find a way to fizzle. It's even more aggravating now that they really DO seem to be a threat, but they still can't be bothered to kill me. I mean, how insulting is that?

I don't mean to be a pest but this IS in the bug tracker, yeah?

Have you mailed gc2bugs about it? If you have saves where the DL diplomacy messages reliably recur, you can send them in with a description of the issue and how to reproduce them (even if it's just a matter of waiting).

Yes, the first time I played a Gigantic map with 9 races in DA, I had Dread Lords show up, and they kept messeging me, that they are taking advantage of the foolishness of the (forgot race name look like humans), even though they are my allies lol. Then when they message me, I just ask to talk to them, and I always either buy or trade a ship or something for their super weapons! Then I used thoes wepons to kill them lol.

Also since they only had 1 planet, just when they showed up, they had no ships, so I tried using troops to grab their planet, and they had advantage of 80, mine was 4 or 5, and I still won....Is something wrong here?

If you're fighting 5 vs. 80, and if I understand the combat system correctly, you'll need more than sixteen times as many (5*16=80) troops to win. Since I've only ever seen Dread Lord planets up to 20M population (compared with the standard maximum of 6B), that's certainly reasonable to achieve; it would only require 320M troops, and one regular troop module holds 500M.

I only had 1 troop ship, I was sure I was it won't work, but it did, I had 1000 troops. So it was 5 advantage vs 80 advantage, and I only had 1000 troops. This must be a bug as well then right?

No, just use Tidal Disruption or one of the options that lowers enemy soldiering advantage. You should only need about 4x their population that way.
