Please O' Please make patches stand alone.

Please Stardock make all the patches stand alone. Not that I hate sdc, but I prefer to have all patches on my harddrive. I tried to archive from sdc but that does not work like I wanted it too, it archives the entire game, and that is too big to have in the backup folder.

Please make stand alone patches like you used to!!!!

I think they are making them stand alone as well from what I gather. There is just a lengthy delay between the SDC version and the stand alone version.

At least i hope they are, I would like to be able to have a stand alone patch as well. It kinda makes having the original CD's pointless, if I need an archived version of them on a DVD...

I doubt you will ever see stand alone patches, SDC is the whole point of the game not having copy protection.

I download all the patches off this site. I have a copy of every patch from 1.2 to 1.4, not having DA yet.

I have stopped using SDC a long time ago because of the many problems associated with updating that way.

Too often files get corrupted or go missing when using SDC to update.

If there is not a downloadable patch in the Downloads section of this site, I do not update.

I have all downloadable updates from 1.1 to 1.40X.

I have all those patches too, but for DA there needs to be stand alone patches. That way I can play any patch I want whenever I want. Plus the fact that you have to activate the game is the protection. Please stardock release the stand alone patches!!! I will even pay for them if I need to.

I can't even get the patch right now. My PC has never been connected to the net, so I do not use SDC. I just download on my MAC, and transfer.

This sucks.

I never have any problems with SDC, it's a harmless app and it does what it needs to do - down load and install updates to GalCiv2, and GalCiv1 before that. If it doesn't run for you, there must be something wrong with your PC, your connection, or your install.
