Low approval at Homeworld

but 100% approval for rest of empire?

I just played a game where the Homeworld started reporting like sub 50% approval ratings, while the rest of my empire had 100% or near 100% rating.

Highlighting the approval rating in the planet screen, it said -62% from **population**?
Does anyone know what that means? Is it because the planet is a Class 11 and I have 20billion squeezed on it?

I was playing the Torians.

Its that you have too much population. Usually homeworlds have big populations and therefor low approval ratings.

Kill some of them.

That's right. Kill some of them. Put them on colony ship and launch it. Then disband the ship.

Or demolish a farm and they will starve.

The rest of the population will think your a hero and give you a higher approval rating for the genocide you have committed.

lol. The people in the Galciv universe are simple minded sheep.

"OH! WOW! Theres *so* much more room. How did you say you got it again?"

"I shipped a hundred million people into a colony ship and dumped the pukes on the nearest star."

"Oh, this room just worth dying for"

The nearest star? You don't even have to go that far. You put it in orbit, open the hatches and the the 1 billion little meteors entertain the masses. (granted, slightly reduced masses)

That's only if you put them in a colony ship and convince them that they tried to invade an evil tyrant's planet and they all died in vain. Where really you put an explosive on the colony ship and as soon as they launched and they were a safe un-noticable distance, boom !! When your the government, you can manipulate your people into believing anything, that's just life.

i was trying to find a way to combine a colony ship and a freighter so i could sell those good citizens.

If it was me, I would load the unhappy bastards into transports and throw them heedlessly at the genocidal korath. Who's happy NOW punk? Apparently the korath gnawing on your thigh is. That really makes me angry. The people don't appreciate how their goverment is. "I don't want to pay taxes to build a ship to stop us from being eaten alive." Ungrateful dregs...

Why put them in a colont ship? I load them into transports and guard the transports until I'm ready to use them.

I think the focus here was genocide, rather than making use of people

On another note, I never build a farm on my homeworld. That's just asking for trouble.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I made a transport, filled it and left it in orbit.

But having said that - the sale of 'food' to Korath / Drengin option sounds interesting. I guess it could be done in the 'trade' screen. But in the end they would just use it for their own ground troops. Maybe a possible new ethical game option.
