Hi Galciv 2 Lovers out there!

Here's my Package of High Quality Weapon effects for Dark Avatar & Dread Lords!

It was 20 hours of work and developing and I hope I could make Combats a bit cooler.

is ther a way to move my saved game files somewhere so i can continue them after the reinstall?

(thers nothing wrong with the game when i start playing it so i dont know wut the "cant find fleet" thing is lol)

in your C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar\ folder the savegames are saved, in C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar\Metaverse\ your metasavegames.
copy them out and reinstall, be careful, you need to start a new game if you want to see my weapons

ok i reinstalled it but i didnt have to do any thing with the save game files, they just stayed ther lol

so ya im confused.......

do i copy the mods into the galciv2 folder or the galciv2/darkavatar folder?

do i need to delete the files im replacing (gfx/weapons, sfx, ect.) before i copy in the mods?

r these mods for the 1.6 version of dark avatar?

hi, this mod has still the values (attack, defense) of 1.5) but work with all versions.

please copy the Folders into you dark avatar Game Folder galciv2/dark avatar (not the folder in your my documents folder where the savegames are!), and everything should function. Be careful you downloaded the version for Dark avatar.

oh i know wut i was doing wrong, haha, i feel stupid

i copied the galciv2 folder into my documents so i wouldnt have to go through program file, total gaming, ect. to get to it everytime(i know i could of made a desktop shortcut, thats y i feel stupid haha) and when i would put the mods in i would put them in mydocuments/galciv2......and not programfiles/stardock/totalgaming/galciv2/darkavatar and the game of course goes to that address.........not my documents......so therefore i wasnt seeing any changes at all

(and do i really have to start a whole new game to see the mods work??)

To fix the turrets disappearing have you thought to have a sepotate animation for the turret and the laser from the turret, one being contentious the other replaceing it when the ship needs to fire?

No idea if this would fix the problem.

well thats out of my modding possibilities. for that you need to change the code and the engine.

I'll make a whole bunch of weapons for the next DA patch (1.7), but without turrets.
I'll do my best to convince Stardock to integrate full moving and none disappearing turrets for Galciv 3 ^^ =o)

Okay, the thread is a bit unclear...

This mod is not MV compatible? Or is there a way to make it so?

Personally I don't play anything but MV games. A clear message in the top-level post or mod description, that would save a lot of time reading through the whole thread to find out if I can use it.

@pndrev: sorry I'm a bit unsure about if it is or not, I just know, for a metaverse game, the game loads different xml data, from the data/metaverse I think. I'm not sure if it causes a cheat flag if you swap the gc2types file, cause I don't know how the metaverse handle it. There are just animation value changes, no attack values etc which influence the game, so the possibility exists, that the metaverse will ignore that, and you can play it. try it out and let me know

Uh... wow?

For clarification -- are you saying that you're doing these for Stardock to integrate into the next patch (as I believe you did for them with DA?), or this is the next revision of your mod, to be released after 1.7 comes out?

If it's the former... that's incredibly awesome

I'm doing this new weapon stuff for Stardock to integrate into the new patch 1.7
and yes , I did for them with DA 1.5 too, but I improved my skills in effects, and *sucked* all potential of this engine to create really new ones for 1.7
most Weapons had been restyled by me, and hopefully increase your Fun feeling while playing the game, it was a lot of work, and it's allways nice to see, that people seem to like it

This isn't my last Weapon work, hundreds more weapons will come in several other Mods I'm planning at the moment.

Hi,
Could you please tell me what extension the this file has and where do install it in the GalCivII DA directory?
I downloaded it from the I-Mod site but is file name is just "Down" @ 9.73 mb in size. Is this compressed ?

Sorry for sounding like a tube... newbie to modding :o

That's the right size, sounds like your browser just didn't handle the name correctly. Just rename it to a zip file and it should open fine.

Ok, haven't seen this problem with anyone else: After installing the mod, it works as intended. However the first weapon effect always happens, then the new animation. So I see a thin laser beam then a bunch of cool plasma shots. Anyway to fix this?

Just confirmed that it seems to only be laser weapons that are effected. And I do so love them

Hi eclio, well that is a funny bug, didn't thought that this can happen, I really do not know why this happened hmm...^^

For all Fans of my weapon FX, for the Addon Twilight of the Arnor, I am working on maaany New and much more impressive Weapon effects! so keep excited, Spacebattles in GC2 TotA will never be the same!
