No and no

Shipyards can only build one ship per turn at most, and can't queue them up like with improvements. Unfortunately changing that would require code changes to the game, so it's outside the scope of modding.

I'll second the request to cue ships in the starport. I think multiple ship builds at once is too much cheese, but to cue them up like improvements, yea I'll buy that for a dollar!

Well, a shipyard continues making the same ship until you tell it not to, after it completes a ship, there's a button that gives you a warning and you can click that to zoom to the planet and change the next ship being built, there's also the governor option where you can change multiple shipyards building the same thing to build another type of ship.

I can see how queueing ships would help (it would speed up some of the above processes as well as make them less complicated), but the game has enough stuff to help without it.

If you were preparing for war with your enemy, you could set a planet to make, say, ten cruisers and have another planet make four transports. That would streamline the game and make it go quicker.

Maybe... what if queuing up ships shortens the build time? If a starport produces, say, a freighter, and is scheduled to make four, the starport will already be producing parts for a freighter. Ten percent of the total turns would be taken off of the time to build. For example, the freighter will take 20 turns. The next three will only take 18.

Nice idea. Maybe add a Trade Good or a Galactic Wonder called "Advanced Production", which allows queing as described by Minor Race. Make it available with Manufacturing Centers and not too cheap. Perhaps as a "Good" only feature, sure will make it a little more worth while to select good.

Any thoughts Kryo?
