"YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED!!!"

"um, werent you supposed to try and resist at this point?"

Why doesnt the AI react at all to having their planets decimated by culture?
(GC2 DL, difficulty Challenging)

I tried a game where I wanted to win by culture, so I flooded my friends and foes alike with influence starbases. At no point did they react at all, they simply just let their planets all be taken by floods of influence starbases. When their planets were about to rebel, or after the planet rebelled, the AI did nothing. No wars, not even any protests. They even complained to me about the ifluence that another culture was doing to them, not even caring that it was MY culture that was tearing through their colonies.

Does DA improve friendly races' AI so they might complain about their civilization dissapearing? I'm really getting bored by this.

Yup, it's so easy I just don't do it anymore, but I know what you mean. It helps if you turn the AI up to tough, and it helps if (in DA) you turn up the "aggression" of the other civs, but they still don't really react appropriately to having their worlds flipped. For what it's worth I started a thread on this awhile back in which Frogboy posted and he seemed to be trying to solve the problem, so we can hope that in future updates it won't be as much of an issue.

Sadly, the AI always seem to fall short in this category. Not only do they not react, but they also can't build an effective influence starbase. Its really sad when I can spam influence in a galaxy where I set things up in such a way so there would be a fight.

You can pretty much wipe the floor with the AI if you build one spin control center and keep pumping star bases (spin control center to keep an obscenely high military rating so they are afraid to attack you).

I've had games where Korath and Drengin alike thanked me and paid me for taking their planets.
