Ah, as if the flip of a switch just arrived, my download of the GalCiv multiemdia just jumped from 3K per second to 75K per second. Looks like Stardock's servers have just been reinforced.

You think that's cool, so it got bogged down again, I IM'd our ISP contact and asked him to double the pipe. Pow, download speeds just vastly increased again.

I'm just going to keep redownloading the game on occasion and make sure download speeds stay high.

MY GOD you people are using a lot of bandwidth! We have increased bandwidth avaiability again to the equivalent of TWENTY T1s just for the GalCiv download.

My friend works at Blizzard, he runs Battle.net and when he downloaded GalCiv today I don't even want to quote the download speeds he got.

Needless to say, my attempt to flood ping him failed.

The bandwidth being used would dramatically decrease if so many people weren't having to download and re-download so many parts!! :P

I have broadband but the download is pretty slow and very volatile...At one point in runs at 30k/sec then the next second falls down to 500b/sec :(

Actually, I better check if my flat mates arent dowloading any "movies".
