Experience, and Repair Bays

Does anyone know the formula for calculating experience during ship combat, and has this changed since DL? Also, a quote from the manual: nearby starbases with repair bays accelerate their rate of repair. I don't find a specific tech for this. Is this a function of any starbase?

The game has the option for starbase modules to accelerate nearby repairs, but there are not actually any modules in the game that use that option. It can be easily added with a mod though, if you want it.

Thanks for the quick reply. Repairing ships at a starbase makes perfect sense. I'll be focusing on meta games for awhile, so modding is out. Any chance this feature will be activated in a patch?

why would you want to repair ships quicker?

right now the rate of repair in orbit is just slow enough to put the pressure on during an AI assault. Increasing it would make things too easy.

Just recently i was under attack from a five way alliance on 'crippling'. I had one fleet with superior dreadnaughts holding off the torians and the drath, after a while half the fleet was orbiting for repair but it was hopeless, so i had to retreat from the sector or loose my nice ships.

that retreat would not have happened if repair was just a bit quicker, and as a result, the game would have been booring.

Make the repair modules difficult to get then. Is there a way to make the repair modules emmit an enticing odor that attracts AI ships? If so you could do that to.
