DA: several issues

I am almost finished my first DA game as Krox: difficulty painful and tech rate slow. The expansion is a definite improvement and I enjoy the new features a lot! Thanx guys!

However, I have experienced a number of issues (I am playing with the latest DA update whatever it is):

Major issue
1) CTD's: maybe every other session the game crashes once. It appears to be random: once it happened when I tried to save the game; in another occasion it happened when I tried to look at the ship analysis screen. Loading and doing the same action does not result in a crash. The same problem was present in DL. I am sorry I can't be more specific - you probably cant do anything on the basis of this information - but I felt that I have to mention it anyway.

Minor issues
2) I researched xeno ethics and chose "evil". However, several turns later I discovered that I have to pay for star base upgrades. Investigation revealed that I am still unaligned ("demonic"). AFAIK you cannot be unaligned if you have xeno ethics and I remember clearly choosing "evil".

3) Pirates (mega?) event occurred early in the game. For some reason the pirates were not pirates but Korath clan on the first turn. Korath were in the game but I had not met them yet. That is, I got message that Korath has declared war on my civ and when I clicked on pirates I got the pop-up that Korath wont speak to my envoy. Next turn the pirates correctly registered as pirates - skull and bones etc

4)Something wrong with rally points. I used "Governors" screen to update rally points but for some reason some colonies reset the rally points after a few turns, i.e. started to send ships to "old" rally points (which I had not deleted). This happened several times.

5) Something wrong with agents. I placed two agents on the home world of Yor. After several turns I discovered that I cannot access the planet. I had not got a message that my agents were nullified (in other occasions I got the message) and the planet icon still showed the red agent icon.

6)Old bug carried over from DL: "max value" is always the same as "current value" on trade routes info screen.

Not a bug but annoying issue nevertheless

7) The AI does not take into account asteroid fields and Yor super ability when setting autopilot course. This can be really annoying when you have 14 speed ship which gets stuck to an asteroid field. Also, I once almost started a war because my fighter on autopilot tried to move through an opponent’s asteroid mine.

Please install 'SmartException' from the free stuff section in Stardock Central. Make sure that SE is running and start your game as normal. If the game crashes it will generate an exception report that can be emailed to [email protected]. If SE does not automatically pop up and prompt you to send the report when the game crashes, you can find it at C:\Program Files\Stardock\SmartException (it will be the newest file with a .CRA extension).

Please include a description of what you were doing at the time, how to reproduce the crash if possible, and a zipped save if applicable when you send an SE log to gc2bugs.

Were you at war with the Yor at the time? And what was your intelligence level with them?

I was not at war. My intelligence level was non-existant, ie. I had not reached low level.

Hmm. That's curious. I know that when at war with a civ, a high level of intellegence is required to view a planet. I am also intrigued with the fact that you had two agents on a planet for at least two turns, and hadn't yet reached a low level of intel. I'm sorry, friend. I have no advice to give you, as I haven't seen this sort of thing before. Perhaps someone will come along and clarify the situation for both of us. Good luck.
