Try updating your drivers first - they're dated from 2004!

The updating didn't work, just how whould I go about updating the Drivers?
P.S: the game doesn't work anymore it just shows a black screen

Go to your video and sound card manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers...

If the latest reference drivers from ATI.com will not install for you, try OmegaDrivers.net. The game most generally requires video drivers from late 2005 or better to run properly.

Thanks mates  , do you have a solution for the music player or am I the unluckest guy yet?

Well, there's no possible way the game could cause that that I can think of, so I would chalk it up to some other accident (clicking around on the screen randomly when the game acted up?) or independent issue.

The games still acting up with the same errors, sorry to bother you guys (insert cheesy one-way smiley)

P.S: I inserted the new drivers.

Go to My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2, open the file prefs.ini, and make the following changes:

Change
DisplayWidth=1024
DisplayHeight=768
ColorDepth=32
Fullscreen=1

To
DisplayWidth=(Your desktop width)
DisplayHeight=(Your desktop height)
ColorDepth=32
Fullscreen=0

Then save the file and start the game.

It turns out the defult settings were on 1880 * 1770, I turned it right down (so that it's not on fullscreen) and are only using the core files (no music, movies etc.) and it works. If it craps up agian with the other files at least I know whats wrong with it. Anyway thanks for all of the help.
