How do i use cheats?

I have been on sites that say you have to enter a command or something. You proberly all ready noticed that im no good at anything that is even a bit complicated when computers are concerned and i would like someone to tell me how to get cheats to work in my game.

Hey i didnt wanna use cheats but beating the dread lords on the last mission is proving to hard
