Eden Colony: Blessing or serious game bug

In my last game i had found a planet with a PQ of 26. Since this was the best natural planet I could find, I decided to name it Eden. Well by the time I ended the game with Eden having a PQ 31 but there still upgradable tiles left and it looks like I could of upgraded Eden to a class 35. I remember reading that planets could only be terraformed to a PQ 30. So is this a terrible bug or did i just get lucky?

Hi!

I've read reports and seen pictures of planets of 50+ quality, so your Eden is not a bug. However it seems to me you were terribyl slow with building up that plant, if you had at the end of the game still room to build. IMO such a planet should get 5+ factories first, enough morale buildings to keep it at 100% approval up to 12B pop and a focus on social production until there are no more free tiles to put buildings on.

Not a bug, just a nice planet

Not sure where you would have read that. Some people have gotten them as high as 72 via random events and lots of luck in earlier versions of the game, though there might have been bugs involved then--not in your case though.

The "normal" best planet is a PQ26 prior to terraforming. These invariably orbit purple stars and again almost invariably terraform up to a PQ32. Certainly a planet colonization PQ ethics event could push this to pretty much anything. The best I've had personally was a PQ47.

There was an old thread where Feud posted a screenshot of a PQ72 although I never did see the screenshot since by the time I looked it was gone off imageshack. I did see a screenshot of a PQ56 that still should be around somewhere. This planet orbited the star Primus which is rumored to have mystical properties. So far I've never had Primus in any game that I've played.

I still have the save game, a copy of which can be found here:

If the link goes down, anyone can feel free to ask me for a copy, and I'll gladly send it out.
