Death of the Korx: Help

Has anyone finished this map yet? I'm horribly stuck. The instructions say to listen to Yux Ulnar to safely reach sector 1,3 but I never recieve any kind of messages. I think I've found the Morale Resource they're refering to (in the far south of the map), but I've stopped on every square in that corner of the map and cannot find this mystical 'exit point'. Can anyone help? I'd like to finish this annoying quest and move on.

I played this mission somewhat recently, so I'm going totally from memory...

I didn't get any messages or anything either, and wasn't sure if that was intentional or it was a bug or what. Anyway, I just made some long range scouts and went looking. If I remember right, using 0,0 as the left corner sector, it's then "north" one and "east" 4, to give you the 1,3. I think.

As you said, there should be a moral resource east of that sector (or a sector very near there if I don't remember the coordinate system correctly). The point wasn't marked or anything, the mission just ended when I stopped a ship in the right sector I think.

Hope that helps.

Hi!
When your first ship makes to the sector 1-3 is the misson over. You can find it with clicking into the minimap.

Is there some way to see the grid coordinates? Because I still can't figure out how to get out of this map. I appreciate the advice so far, but either I'm dense or I've hit a bug.

The current sector coordinates you're looking at are displayed at the top-center of the screen.

Oh! So that's where they are!

I couldn't find them, so I won by deploying a bunch of scout ships and scouting around.

Thanks kryo, that was the ticket. As long as I've been playing this game I've never noticed those sector coords before.

Ok. I have a follow up question. I took a ship and sent it all the way around and parked it on 1,3 and the game never ended. I moved it all around that area and verified the sector but it still didn't end. Anyone else have that happen? I was using the Crimson Blade ship..

Nevermind.. sector is different from grid. I had moved all of my ships to the grid coordinate 1,3 which is right next to the morale bonus. But it wants you to go to sector 1,3 which is right near korath territory.

How did you guys just send any ship to sector 1-3 without any development? Within the 1st 10 turns, there are already dread lord ships floating around with 350++ mass driver dmg, taking out my colony ship as I got nearer to sector 1-3!!

The objective is over towards the west corner of the map (not the south) so you should have a pretty clear shot.

Sector 1-3 is in the area of the Korath, and it's where Korath and Dread Lord ships are floating area. I tried researching full life support and rushing my colony ship to sector 1-3 but before I could reach there, it got shot down by Dread Lord ships

chanbrothers, see the other thread about this that I replied to you in. That might help.

I found it earier to give the Drengin a big speed racial ability, and as well as some points in sensors or range (I believed I used senors). You need to micromanage your ships and avoid any combat unless you have no choice.

I played that level by focusing on getting one ship to the sector. (The big ship with the custom name. I was under the impression that I needed to get THAT ship to the sector, not just any ship. It appears I am wrong about that, though.) I collonized worlds and build enough starbases so the sector was just in range. Then I made a beeline for the sector, being careful not to let my ship anywhere near the enemy. This is where the speed and sensor bonuses come into play. It allows you to see the enemy before they can see you, and run away before they can catch you.

I hope this helps.

I managed to complete this mission last week.

I installed my scout ship with fast engines, out running the dread lords, and managed to reach sector 1-3 with the dread lords chasing me
