Questions about my comp

Okay, theres probably a better place to put this, but off topic works.

I have a neon 500w power supply, on the back is the standard on/off switch, the fan speed dial, and something else.
It's a red switch that has the number 512 on one part and 115 on the other, it's always been set to 115.
What is it? What does it do?

The other is, , I had alway though DDR3 was superior to DDR2 SRDRAM, yet despite both being old RAM types DDR2 is much more popular, why? was I wrong.

Mains voltage selection. You're unlikely to ever need to mess with it unless you move to another country.

DDR3

DDR3 (not to be confused with GDDR3, found on video cards) is not even publically available yet. Expected avaialbility of DDR3 RAM and compatible chipsets is towards the end of the year.

Oh, I had just confused my DDR 333 Ram with DDR3. My mistake I had though they just put only the first 3 for simplicity's sake.
