Minor Races

I have recently played a few games in Dark Avatar in "Battle Of The Gods" mode. I have set the number of minor races to 3, but when it comes to the actual game, I do not encounter any. If this because the other races wipe them out early in the game to get their planets? Or is it because you can not have minor races in Battle Of The Gods mode? Thanks in advance.

I believe scenarios will only have the races they are coded to have, so when playing them the minors option doesn't do anything.
