Don't you think that we should know more about races

I'm a person which likes a lot descriptions or just flavour features.
What I would like to know is if i'm the only one which feel the lack of a good historical background about races; what I mean is for example we know Torians were slaves of Drengin or Drath lost their home planet to Altarians but in game there isn't any "historical background" document about races.
Don't you think that an extensive description about history of every race, description of some major events for example (Iconians lose their planet to Yor or Humans which discover Hyperdrive) would be really good for your overall game enjoyment?

This is a good point. There's some stuff about the races on GalCiv's wiki, but not very much in-game...mostly, it comes through in diplomacy comments. Frogboy once remarked that while Master of Orion 2 was in many ways a game about warfare, he wanted GalCiv to focus more on actual civilizations. More in-game information about the beings who are building your civilization would add to immersion there.

Indeed hiddenranbir really hitted the mother Nail with hes comment. Backstories are nice and all but if they don“t affect the gameplay in anyway its pretty much useless. Maybe one day even the AI opponents will have true personality.
