Enhanced Economic Activity event

I don't know if Enhanced Economic Activity is a Mega Event or not but i find this event too much overpowered.Since i got DA in all my games i got this event and i always go from -20 or -100 bc to +300 or +600 bc.
I don't know if there is also a "Economic Activity worsened", but aren't these effects too much exxagerated?
In my last game that event lasted for a lot of turns and i went from a struggling economy at 1500bc to 32000bc, no need to explain effect on game.
If the effects are +100% or +200% or +300% wouldn't make more sense to tone down its effects?

I like this event. It affects everyone, changes the game balance, and can leave people in the lurch when it ends. It's not a 300% boost, but it can turn you from losing money to making money. Remember that the surplus or deficit is only the difference between your overall expenses and overall income, which are usually much larger. It's easy to move from -20 BC/turn to +300 BC/turn by changing your spending.

It's not a mega event, it was in DL as well, and it's not at all overpowered since it affects all civs equally.

Yes, there is. It's the galactic recession event, and if your economy isn't solid going into it, it can be a real problem.

Is it a mega-event?

there's a similar event that occurs with influence, again affecting everyone equally. the net results aren't equal, as they're based on how well you're doing in the first place. and i like them.

I got that economic event in the DA beta when I was playing Super Hive, and let me tell you, that thing put my economy on steroids. Free & instant industrial sectors + lots of money, you do the math. I won that game.

This is my favorite event. Its like christmas! Im making 9k a turn in my current game durring the economic boon. Its totally random, so you cant build strategies around it. Its not over powered....well, I mean it is...but its overpowered for everyone equally (though a player is always more dangerous with money than the AI).

I'm playing a map right now where I was struggling economically, unable to keep up in my military and technology because i focused all my effort monopolizing a HUGE star cluster (it represents about 5/8 of the total stars) to insure my security. Then I got the Econ Boost event and I was able to quickly build a military and properly develop my new population.

I'm trying to take advantage of it now because when it ends my economy will fold under the pressure of so many devoloping colonies.

I love this event, it makes things interesting. Empires on the brink are given momentary repreive, and I've saved failing civs myself just to keep things interesting.

One thing I will do during this event is jack my taxes way up. I don't care about growing my pop at this time, I just want the money (without losing the Senate in the process). I'll also grab any economic bonuses I can, like research Star Democracy. 10% of a lot is a lot. I'll also go hog-wild on rush-buying, to keep under 20000bc. My tech capital tends to get a LOT of improvement during this time!

Then when the economy comes back to earth, I lower my taxes again and live off my 20000bc bank account. It's kind of the opposite of what first came to mind--at first I was like, "I can afford 100% approval so I'll lower taxes", but I realized that's wrong. Get the money NOW, while you're making a lot more money per capita.
