Where are the improved graphics?

I have been playing a game of DA that I started as a beta but have continued into DA 1.5 and I don't see any difference in the starbase graphics or any other types of graphics. In addition I have rarely been able to get any of the in game movies to work. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has ahd this issue or maybe is it that I started the game as a beta. Plus I would love to know why my in-game movies don't work even though the opening and ending ones do. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

First, the graphics are vastly improved. If you're not seeing it - it could be issues on your own. If you are on Vista and have an NVidia card, that could be the issue.

I'd uninstall both Gal Civ 2 and Dark Avatar via sdcentral. Go in and make sure you delete everything from the install directory and your //my documents/my games directory (as long as you dont have old stuff you want to save).

Reboot.

Do a fresh install of GC2 (from sdcentral), and then install Dark Avatar.
If you still have issues with video, you might want to install radgame tools: http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm

Also, post your system specs. Maybe they're low.

There is no difference that I know of between the graphics in the beta and the final. The improvement is from DL to DA.

i also got the impression the OP thought the graphics would be improved on the final release of DA. the graphics in the DA beta are the graphics in the DA release, and they have far more detailed textures than their DL predecesors.

GeForce 4 MX series cards will not display the textures in-game (they are really little more than faster GeForce 2's, and only support DirectX7 features).

Sorry, I thought you meant from the original game to the expansion. Yes the GeForce 4 MX cards are very, very old and almost any 3d game released nowadays will have significant issues with it.
