Cannot Download/Install DA - Unhandled Error (999)

I heard that DA was released last night, so queued up the updates to GC2 and the installation for DA. All updates for GC2 installed without a problem, but attempting to download DA produces the following error (personal information removed).

Please help! I tried refreshing the XML data in the Tools->Internet menu, but it did nothing.

Is your DA serial also registered to your account in SDC?

Got the same problem

doesn't seem to be an option to register DA

can register GC 1 and GC altarian prphecy and GC 2 but no DA on the pull down.

Not a US version incompatable with a UK version thing?

You most likely have a very old version of SDC (there was one a long while back where the auto-update was broken, so unless you manually updated, SDC will still be that old pre-DA version). To get DA in the list you should simply need to download and install the latest version of SDC.

Yeah just did that.

Turns out it was the problem.

all those years of law school just to be able to say "computer says no"

back to the rugby me thinks while it downloads, although, if wales get beat by scotland my boss will be handing out the p45's pretty quick me thinks.

Unfortunately, that did not work for me. Additionally, when I pre-ordered DA, the confirmation email I received from Stardock states "Serial Number: [No serial number required]".

I simply installed from your link over my existing instance of Stardock Central. Please let me know if you can think of other options I might try. I received exactly the same error message and log dump.

Is a DA serial shown in the email you receive after using the serial request page?

Hit that page and did receive a serial number! Plugged that into SDC and away we went!

Had the same issue, tried the solution (requesting my key) and it works!


I suppose this fault was caused by the prerelease entering "No serial number required" into the serial number field, but because I am now able to download and install my beautiful, beautiful game, all is forgiven.
