DA not showing in SDC

So I have the retail version of GalCiv2, and I purchased DA today online and the thing will not show up in my Purchased Games list.

Here is part of the problem I think, my GalCiv2 is registered to my old email, and DA registered to my new one. I emailed support to get it fixed but I doubt anyone will answer until Monday, which sucks.

Any way I can fix it now?

Doesn't show up on mine either. I'm pretty frustrated. I am all for downloading software directly from the publisher...the fewer middle-men and more money going to the right pockets the better in my opinion. However.... THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING. This entire experience has been unnecessarily complicated, and I will absolutely not do this again with Stardock. I was able to get my credit card info into the system easy enough. I want a link. One freaking simple link in my purchase confirmation email that I can click on one time and start my download. Is that really too much to ask? I do not want to install an application and register multiple times to get the software that I already purchased! I should have been playing 15 minutes ago but instead I am having to wait for guidance from support...what a total waste of time, and I have no idea when this 'issue' (which should never have existed in the first place if I just had a simple download location) will be resolved.

Preach it, brotha! Seriously, I have this problem too, and I'm surprised Stardock hasn't made it simple.

One link, Stardock. We need ONE LINK to download it, and you make us REGISTER for EVERYTHING, and then I can't play it ANYWAY! Just an icon in the program files! AN ICON! How exciting! Of course I paid $25 to get a little icon and nothing else! Brilliant! [/sarcasm] I don't think I'll get a response from Support yet either, so why can't you have solved this earlier? I'm not accepting any excuses, just provide a link in an email or something.

Edit: Oh, and I can't even see the Icon. Well Done, Stardock!

Unless you can register the DA serial you received to the same account you have GC2 on, you will need to wait for support to merge the accounts, sorry.

I had the same problem.

I had to update the version of stardock i was using to show GC2 Dark avatar in the pull down menu.

I was then able to register my new serial number and verify the account.

Then it let me install it.

Once this was done i got a "you need to merge your accounts message" but it still installed and it still plays.

And it looks like with a little tweaking the old mods will corss over pretty well. Seems to be less ship jewlery in this though

You're not alone...I haven't heard a word yet either.

Stardock seemed so progressive to me with the whole not including obnoxious (and crackable) copy protection on GC2. Then I meet SDC, and now I'm just shaking my head. Is this my reward for being a paying customer and obtaining the game legally?

Seriously...ONE LINK. Then no one has to screw around with SDC, no one has to wait for support on it, and no one has to support it.

Is this SDC thing the work of some marketing genius?

Very. Bad. Idea. Even worse execution. Please guys, stick to making games...

I checked with support and they say there are no tickets in the system for the email address on your forum account. Did you use a different email to contact support?

Kryo, I know you must be working overtime trying to help everyone, and I appreciate your efforts, but I'm also having similar problems. I downloaded the fist day it DA was out, but anyways, I had the problem of trying to download and it kept reaching 99% and starting the download all over again. I went through this like 5 times. Anyways, I decided to email support, and saw that they still had my POP3 account for my email, I'm working with my ISP to resolve the problem, but I can't access that account right now, so I sent a change to support with a Yahoo email, and also sent a message to support telling them about the issues that I've had. I'm afraid if they issued a ticket for it and sent it to the inactive account I'll never get it. I know this is getting long winded, but the thing is that you really seem to be in a position to be able to resolve problems some of us are having, so it there any way possible could you check and see if support is aware that I have a problem and merge my account totally to the Yahoo email. There are universes to be conquered, and I can't get to 'em yet...lol. Again, sorry for the length, and thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Any support ticket would be logged under whatever address you used to contact support. If you mean the troycable email address, and you want to change what your current account is under, all you need to do is go to the My Account link at the top of the page, then to the Stardock Account link, reenter your login details, and from there you can change any of your account details.

The office has cleared out for the day, but I'll try and check with them tomorrow (remind me if you can before 4pm EST by bumping this thread or emailing me).

I also don't see DA in "Purchased Software" on SDC and I ordered it using the same email address that I used to register DL. When I droped 30 bucks for this game over an hour ago I expected to be playing (Or at least downloading)the game by now but instead I get to spend the day searching the forums to try to figure out whats wrong. Good times.

Look, I know I'm not the brightest bulb in the box but this is ridiculous. I don't want to sound nasty or anything but it seems that the mymoneytoyou process went a lot smoother than the yourproducttome process is going.

Did you click the [+] next to GC2? DA is on SDC as a module for GC2, not as a separate product.

Too cool! I emailed [email protected] and got an autoresponse that didn't help at all. One link in the autoresponse pointed me back here. This is the most cumbersome thing I have ever seen. It is probably something I'm doing wrong but if you can make a process to get my money that takes about 5 minutes why can't you do the the same to get your product to me?

In that case, you most likely just need to update SDC. Here's the latest version.

Back nearly last year there was a build of SDC where the auto-self-update was broken, so anyone who got that build and didn't manually update afterwards hasn't had any automatic SDC updates since (it happened to me too).

That's because it's sorted! Great game, BTW. I just feel that the dowlnload process could be smoother if they were given more accurate guidelines.

One pointer; don't buy Dark Avatar under another email address. USE THE ONE YOU REGISTERED GALCIV2 UNDER!! It will not work otherwise!

I even thought "Well maybe my dumbass registered DL under an old address" but the "Stardock Central Validation" email from when I first got DL is still there in the in box of the same address I used to get DA. I don't mean to spam the board so I'll lay off a bit but this is extremely frustrating.

OK...I run the install SDC tool that I got when I bought the game (for the nth time) & select "Update Now" and I get a prompt to buy the game (Which I have just bought). I have spent four hours trying to download this game & I'm just done.

Your download process sucks.

If you have the latest version of SDC (It should say build 141 in Help menu->About--if it doesn't, use the link I posted above), and DA is now listed but shows as not having been purchased, then you just need to register DA in SDC's Tools menu->Register Products dialog.

Register the game like kryo said, then you should be able to install.

I personally found Stardock pretty convenient and quite unlike odiferous bovine excrement.
