DA Installation Help

Hello

I purchased the DA expansion. I want to download the expansion and copy it so I can play it on a PC without an internet connection. So far I`ve had no luck. The expansion seems to need SDC to work. So I tried copying SDC with the DA to a disk an copy both to my other PC, No luck. Is there a way to activate the expansion like the email option for DL? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

If you just tried copying the files before, use SDC's archive option instead (Right click the program you want to archive, and choose Archive->Selected Application). Then just grab the .sdc file from C:\Program Files\Stardock\Stardock Central\BACKUP along with the SDC installer, and get them to the other machine by whatever means are available. Then install SDC, copy the .sdc files to the hard disk, and double click them to have SDC install them.

Note that you will need to archive GC2 as well, even if it is already installed on the other machine. The 1.5 update is required for DA but there is not yet a standalone patch for it.

You should be able to activate by email as before; simply attempt to activate, then when it notices you have no internet and fails, it will give you the email option.

Thank you kryo

I followed your instructions and with a little tweaking of my own I am now playing DA on my non internet PC. I know it has been said on these forums many times before, Stardock`s customer support is outstanding. Thank you again.

Goldenboy, since your game pc is offline you had to activate DA by way of email. How long did it take to get the response to your activation request from Stardock? I sent my activation email about 20 hours ago, and have no response yet.

I received my activation request within minutes. An automated server replied to my request at [email protected]. You should try again, The service should be almost instant.

Thanks, Goldenboy! I resubmitted it several hours ago, and still no reply. I'll wait until business hours tomorrow to straighten it out.
