There's some elements of Sots that I like,ie the Tactical combat system, graphics, the research and tech tree, random events and some other crap that I cant think of at the moment.
However I prefer the game play and diplomacy of GalCiv2.

If sots was developed by Stardock and had some elements of GalCiv2 in it then it would totally rock.

Putting in real-time tactical combat would kill the enjoyment of the game for me. I've gotten to the point where I am sick of RTS games, and would hate to see one of the last great turned based strategy franchises go that route.

Well, it probably wouldn't be beyond reason to have a tactical and "classic" combat mode in a future game.
