Last year, we had a thread in which people showed off some of the great ship designs they created with Galactic Civilizations II.

With the expansion pack adding so many new components and so much free form support, we'd love to see the cool things players create.

The cool thing in the expansion pack is now you can save your creations as templates and then assign the computer players to make use of those ships in various roles. Combined with the capability of creating your own custom opponents, now you can create your own sci-fi universe within GalCiv without modding.

1.) Create design.
2.) Make sure you are using the same hull style that was used to make the hull.
3.) Start new game. (If design created in another game, like God Mode.)
4.) Research appropriate hull size tech.
5.) If you have put weapons/defenses/engines on, research appropriate weapons and miniaturization techs.


if you designed the ship using KHSM and started with a blank hull, you might be able to change the hull style manually by changing the file name. maybe not. it seems possible based on what i know, but i've never tried it myself.

I guess I'm the first to post this kind of hybrid. I just love the old fashioned ships. Add some singularity cannons sticking out it's side, and some good 'ol Ion thrusters, and it's a space-ship.

the Altarian ships are not yet ready but will be loaded to the cyberton Shipyard soon.

have you researched huge hulls in your new game

are you using the same hull style in new game that you used in god's game

a large hull, a medium hull, or a huge hull will not show up as templetes until you reseach those hulls in the game you are playing


I was going to be a jerk and berate you for not reading what I wrote, but I realize I would be more of an ass. Yes I have all the hull techs, the only techs I dont have are the last 3 in the ranscendance line.

If I have to have the same design, then I will just always start with does that man have to start with the same design, hull style, appearance, then I know what I have to do now... remake the ship in my new game, take pics of it in the gods game, and then when I beat my current game stick to making new ships in the same styles for normal games. pain in the butt.

omg I hate this laptop... I totally screwed up my last post. Have to press really hard all the time to not miss a letter.

I finally got the time today to take some pics of my ship, so I will post them soon.
