Dread Lord on Parade question

So, I started playing Dread Lords on Parade, and I had a question about the Dread Lords. Do the Dread Lords only conquer planets, or can they send out colony ships and colonize? That is all...

no they only conquor.

I tried dreadlords on parade a few times myself. The other AI races always kill them and the game ends.

I put a post some time ago asking how to get the dreadlords on parade to work but got no answers.

I was wondering about that, too. It was really fun at the beginning of the game when every race was concerned about the common foe, but as soon as I had built my own armada to throw into the fray against the Dread Lords, some other race had vanquished them and the game stopped unceremonioulsy. Stardock should at least incorporate an option that lets the player continue the game even when one of the victory conditions is met.

Ah yea, i remember seeing this feature in some much older games... one example being civilisation. In that game, you had a certain number of turns before the game ended or you could build a spaceship to win, in either case it would give you an option to continue playing but that no further score would be added.

I guess since it is such an old idea, no one want's it anymore??

Ah, I didn't know that the game ends when the Dread Lords are defeated. I thought someone (I was planning to be that someone) would defeat the Dread Lords, then proceed to defeat everyone else. Such is not the case, though, huh? I repelled an attempted invasions by destroying their troop transport before it landed, and was planning a little invasion of my own. This bit of news makes me a lot less interested in finishing this scenario, however.
