An Idea for a great Mod

I;m not sure if iy's possible but here's my idea.

1. That there be a home system, but with no Civilization Capitol.

2. Have the player start out with a battleship that would serve as a mobile capitol.

3. Have the ship be strong, but if it goes "blooie" as the GNN robot says, you loose.

4. Have the ship confer some mega bonuses to whatever planet it orbits,

I would make the mod myself, but sadly the whole thing is a bit beyond me.

If somone would make it it'd be really cool to say the least and I would be eternally greatful

Sorry, I don't think this would be possible without access to the game's source code. It's a good idea, though.

Honestly, I thought so too, but it sure as hell would be cool. Can the source code be gotten at? I'm sure it can so you never no, maby so enterprising code mmonkey would do it, unless of course its illegal

That sounds cool. If you researched far enough, you could don other big classes with the powerful planet bonus component.

Lol, a modder would have to rewrite almost all the code for the AI.

Perhaps you start your own developing company and make this game?

It was just an idea, sir on the edge, I wasn't aware it would be that complicated. Come to think of it, I cannot clam credit for the idea. I am currently reading a military SF series were the capital of the Confederacy of Sentient Beings is on a battleship that orbits a different member planet every year.

Related to this, I thought that it would be fun to add a section where a flaghsip can survive even if all planets from a civilization are destroyed. That way, if all your planets are taken over, you can run away in your flagship. Although it may be very slowy going, you can research and build on the ship, and hopefuly retake some planets.

In other words, once your civ is wiped out the game continues with you as a pirate?

That would be really, really cool, if I could do that I would cede my planets to allies just for fun, It a shame that Stardock is most likely impervious to nagging, otherwise if we could show the idea had a following we could get them to stick it in there in a expansion or somsuuch.

Very interesting idea, but it would be very difficult logistically to run an entire empire from a single ship. Even the biggest hugest most ridiculously grossly large horrendously big, oh my god, thats not a moon ship would be a flypoop speck next to a planet.
