Sensors in V1.4

After mucking about with V1.0 for a month or two, I finally upgraded directly to 1.4x. The new changes are great, but did they put some sort of limit on the Sensor range your ships can have? I have a ship with a sensor range of 37, but the actual sensor range is about the same as your Flagship you get at the start of the game.

This happens in my old savegames as well as with any newly created games. I suppose I could get eyes of the universe... never really saw the point before...

There is I believe, a 15 parsec cap on sensors, even with eyes of the universe. I never played 1.0, so I'm not sure if the cap existed in that or not.

I think the sensor range is around 12-15 max. There was a problem with it being greater than that.

That sucks bigtime... Was nice to have 30% of the map visible by one ship in V1.0

Come to think of it, as soon as I had 3 or four of those ships come online the framerate did drop dramatically....

The max sensor range was capped at 15 parsecs in 1.1, as I recall. Performance takes a pretty big hit if you have more than a handful of ships running about with significantly more than that.
