Video codec help?

Hello, I just purchased the game today caus i thought it looked cool.
But there appears to be a small problem with it, every movie (like the intro movie or other cut scenes) don't play, the audio does, but i'm not getting any video.
I can play the game and all, but it's kinda annoying that i'm not able to watch the cutscenes.

I presume the problem is somewhere in a video codec, do i need to install a special one or maybe it's one i allready have installed?

Somebody please help me

Update: I installed the bink video player and i'm able to watch them in their standalone player.
Ingame however the screen still goes completly black and i only hear audio.

Please go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2 (or wherever you installed the game at), open the debug.err file you find there in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

Try turning off anti-aliasing in the options.
