How does Smart Exception work?

I would like to help out with the beta, so I installed Smart Exception should the beta crash. Do I need to run it before running a game, or will it be automatically called should a crash occur?

Run it before running the game. It should then pop up with a report if the game crashes.

When I want to send crash reports to SD, Do you guys only need the .CRA file or the
.DMP as well?

ps. I checked the .CRA file with notepad and it looks like a debug.err file from DA reporting a crash so I presume SmartException is working.

Disregard the above information. I should have checked more since SmartException makes a zip file for me so I do not have to manually do that.

Sometimes SE doesn't always pop up even if it does generate a report--check it's directory (C:\Program Files\Stardock\SmartException) for new .CRA files if it doesn't pop up. And yes, the .CRA includes the debug.err, but it has other more technical information as well.

I found that opening up SE will give you a list of crashes it records (got lots of other apps thats crased recorded) so select the DA crash you want to report and press the email selected application button. That just the way I send my crash reports.
