Gal Civ 2 keeps crashing

The title says it all, in just about 5 minutes the game has crashed on me 3 times. Its getting quite annoying and has been happening regularly since the 1.4x patch. Plus, it happesn for no apparent reason, i would click on a ship and it crashes, id click on the talk to key and it crashes. Any help on how to solve this(if solvable), would be of great help.

Please go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2 (or wherever you installed the game at), open the debug.err file you find there in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

Does it always crash when you load that particular savegame? If so, zip it and send it to [email protected] with a  description of the problem and the debug.err. Also send a SmartException report if you have SE (if not, get it from SDC).
