A few UI/Gameplay questions

Hey all, just got Galactic Civ II for Christmas, and loving it so far! I ran into a few things during gameplay that I couldn't figure out, and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

First off, I'd like to know if there's an easy way to have all newly constructed ships of a given type be sent to a rally point. I have been able to use the governers to move ALL ships being constructed to a given rally point, but can't find a way to just move all Constructors for example to a rally point. Since one of my strategies during game play involves rapid expansion of a starbase's influence/benefits, it would be really nice to be able to use a governer to instruct the game to set the rally point for all Constructors, and any other ship type I'm after.

Second, I love the ship/planet box you can pop up. The problem is, once I'm fairly far into a game, I usually try to keep a small ship at each planet so I don't have to worry about unescorted troop ships landing on my planets. And when I open up the ship/planet box, all of those ships are listed even tho they're in orbit and not being used for anything other than orbital defense. Is there a way to filter the ships list show my ships, but exclude orbiting/unlaunched ships?

And third, being a huge fan of both the original Master of Orion and of MoO II, what I'm missing most are simple keys that allow me to move from ship to ship, or at least a key to move me to each ship that still has movement points remaining. Ideally I'd have the ability to move forward and backwards thru each ship, each planet, and each ship with movement remaining.

Hope someone can answer some of these for me If some of this isn't in the game, maybe it's something others would find useful also, and could chime in to see if we could get some of this in a patch down the road.

Thanks!

Never used that feature, never figured out how.

Nice idea, but the answer is no.

This is also not possible, and yes it would be great if the 'find' button scrolled through all ships with movement points. I heard the 'TAB' key does this but i never tried it.

Sorry to have to dissapoint you with these answers.

1st: Unfortunately, there is no way to select all of a specific type of ship or send all ships of one type to a certain area. You can work around this however; select the planets building said specific ship and set them all to send vessels to one specific rally.

2nd: If you go into the ships/planets list and click the arrows enough times, eventually you can sort by orbit, which I assume means whether a ship is in orbit or not, although I rarely use this feature. Is this what you were looking for?

3rd: Again, I do not use this, but if you click "Ship" by the minimap, I believe that it goes to the next ship with movement points. If there is a ship you do not want it to select, set that ship to "sentry" or "guard" depending on your purposes.

The "find" button or TAB key should do the trick for your 3rd question.

No, the find key will not scroll through all ships with movement points. That only happens if you use up the movement points as you go. So if you want to scroll through and asses all your ships before moving them... sorry, your out of luck.
