Espionage Race Ability?

Does the Espionage Race ability still exist? If so, what does it do in the new Espionage system?

Super Spy: Gets an agent to start with and can build a Counter
-Espionage Center on planets that prevents spies from being
put on the planet and provides a morale boost. This is directly from the DA manual. As stated, it seems a bit weak. Does anyone else know of any further advantages this ability gives? I have also just read that the CE Center is not allowed to be traded. I am a bit confused. Is this something that is available only to the Super Spy? If so, why is it in the tech tree?

No ... I meant the Race abilities - when you pick a custom race you can put +10 on Logistics, or Morale etc. You used to be able to put points on Espionage as well, except now I don't know what it does

I can not answer your question with absolute certainty. My best guess would be that an increase there would either give a 15 or a 30 percent advantage towards the time necessary to spawn a new agent.

Espionage now increases the effect of the money you put in to get spies by a percentage.

That was a badly worded explanation...

Say you pay 100BC per tern, with one point on espionage (+5%) 105BC would be used in the calculations on how much more money you need to spend to get the next spy.

This is indeed how it works, except as Mistralok pointed out, the values you can choose from are ADVANCED (15%) for 1 ability point, and GIFTED (30%) for 2 ability points.  Though I'm sure Sir On The Edge used 5% as an easy example for illistration purposes only.

This does not actually appear to be the case from what I can tell. All it does is give you a boost to the percentage you can spend on espionage, for example if you had an espionage ability of 50% and income of 1000bc, and then set your espionage spending to 10%, your total espionage spending would be 100Bc + 50% - 150bc. The main difference is that this 50% is not exactly a bonus - all 150bc gets added to your expenses. (You can hover over the spending on the espionage tab to see this calculation). I'm not sure if this is how it's supposed to work, because this doesn't reall give you much advantage over someone with 0 espionage bonus - they could set their spending to 15% and have the same spending (150bc). The only bonus you get is that you can put more than 25% of your income into spying (25+50% = 37.5%). Do you think this is a bug or how it's supposed to work?

Super Spy gives 1 extra spy, espionage center tech and allows you to spend 35% of your economy on espionage per turn rather than the normal 25%.

It's a poor super ability the Krynn stats make up for this a bit though.
